The Eternal Tree Poem by Soumili Karmakar

The Eternal Tree

The doves were sprinkling rose water;
The Cupid was flying near the fountain,
A little girl was collecting the weathered leaves
Carrying them from the orchard to her colossal mountain.

Eternity was her wish for the leaves
Thus, she drew a tree.
The tree was waiting for the girl,
The sun was waiting for the rain
To welcome him in his rays.
As, the tree saw her
He felt his heartbeat singing softly with the tune of the distant waves.

The orchard was keen,
So were the sparrows,
Only the cooling breeze knew the girl,
Spreading hope in her lively present and better tomorrows.

The sunlight peeped from the curtains;
To inquire what did the girl hide
Pretence signed off, as the girl brushed on the paper with her heartily strides.

The day was gracefully bright;
The leaves were found near the window side
Splendid sound of the waterfall was in the air
We were manifesting on our way.

The Frame was made without a glass
Made the tree bow to the girl at last.
He experienced the air, he found his purpose
He loved to be around the lovely view
He honoured the child of the universe.
