' ' ' ' The Come On - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

“I’m so hot...”
she said

“I have to stop
myself...! ”
she said

“...from spontaneously
combusting! ”
she said.

My heart burst
into flames

(even as she spoke)

even the flames were aflame!

“We had better
call the fire brigade! ”
I said.
