The Cost Of Waiting Poem by Ace Of Black Hearts

The Cost Of Waiting

The fires are still burning.
A month past.
The insanity of it.
Acres upon acres just gone.
And we are responsible for all it.
Every death ultimately human caused.
Our inaction on grand scale.
How could one ever ignore, when we have been evacuated from our homes.
Yet still nothing is being done.
Not one word in the media about the generational cause.
If we get to the point where so many trees die that our air is no longer breathable will we then respond?
What will it take, in this land of do nothings?
For all the talk of these dead beat politicians.
It doesn't mean a thing.
Following a script full of promises that are nothing more than big fat lies.
Everybody is to busy just looking to survive.
Except for the few elite.
Who think money can buy anything.
But who wants to live in space station because we destroyed our planet for centuries?
Who wants to have to colonized mars because we had no choice?
Who wants to have to find a planet in the goldey lock zone, that we will never make it too?
Light years away, our ships will never carry us that far.
Were making such a big mistake.
Why don't we see it?
Why aren't more people fighting for our home?
Why isn't there more anger?
Why are we not forcing the issue?
Why are we still denying the science?
It's time for a change.
It's time we make the sacrifice, for all our lives.
It's time we develop more clean technology.
It's time we make damaging our environment a felony.
Yes make them served jail time.
Financial encouragement is not enough.
Not no more.
That clock has run out.
We need a more immediate effect.
This is the start of the scramble that was predicted by oil executives in the 70's.
And it is only get worse the longer we wait.
This is a defining moment we should take.
Before it's too late.
