The Country Pub Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

The Country Pub

Heading to our country pub
Where a cup of ale awaits
Quaint delightful rustic fayre
Wall to Wall aged Oak to stare

Flickering Lantern Lights grace the walls
Historic glow of simpler days gone by
A time machine to ye olde England
A vision of a homeland

Dick Turpian Tavern minds imagination
The old converted stable house
Where humans now do graze
Service with a smile, the friendly ways

Beer Garden full of cottage beauty
Peaceful and serene
Green, Green Grass surround
A home from home we have found

The weary traveller making a pit stop
A place where old friends meet
Home Cooking, a hearty meal or well-earned treat

The pint froth acts as the hourglass reaching the end
Now rested its time to say adieu to leave this moment treasured
Generations past, present, and those yet to discover your charm
Time standing still, tranquil and calm

To the travellers of now and those yet to frequent
Come find the magic, in this community hub
Value this country place, to stop and sit in the country pub
