The Curse Of Poetry Poem by Bill Grace

The Curse Of Poetry

Rating: 5.0

To carry the fire of poetry in your veins is curse
Because the freedom to say 'no' is lost
You write because you have no other choice
Hope that God will read a word or two
Or some other respected or unknown entity on the web,
and that you will be very lucky,
If strangers bless you with a kind word in your cup.

I liked this poem. It is true about poetry. You may declare 'I will never write again' but if you are a poet, you will be back at it. Guess that is the curse, but a good curse at that. Good write. Sincerely, Connie Webb

I love this. It is so true. A kind word in your cup, means everything, doesn't it?
