The Dance Poem by Steven B Taylor

The Dance

Rhythms

The Dance

Opus 72

Music softly flows on air.
It wafts, on breeze it wends.
The gentle rhythms push the pair,
And thus the dance begins.

Lovers sway within the beat,
And kiss so wild and free.
Together in the dance, complete
The perfect harmony.

The hardness of the male is sought,
With softness from her heart.
His yielding softness, thus is bought,
With hardness on her part.

Thus does the dance perfect the day.
In unison they mate;
Flow with the force that's of the way,
And then they separate.

The separateness, a vital goal.
It validates their dream.
In separateness, we become whole,
And flow within the stream.

To seek unity of soul and heart,
And yield to nature's sway,
We must find time to be apart,
And thus complete the way.

Sway with the rhythm of the dance.
Go, with its magic charms.
Deep in the forest, lovers prance,
Within each other's arms.
