The Dance In My Heart Poem by Lehlohonolo Selai

The Dance In My Heart

Rating: 5.0

So my heart beats faster now
Like the music of a wild summer party
With notes high and too low yet loud
Or the roar of crowds clapping heavily

My heart has seen the world now
Strange in a way and too fierce for my liking
Like the music of a night club I dreamt of
Too loud and too wild for my soul

The dance is strange in my heart
Not a tango where it would take two
For I have tried that pie in my time
And spat out dirty moves on a muddy ground

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem with a confused heart. A number of things weren't happening right nor were they making sense as they happened!
