A thump of rage
A cry of pain
It was all the drink
You are not to blame
It clouded your thought
Blinded your love
It hurt so bad
Yet how can I be mad
It wasn't your fault
Just the drink
That you've downed since noon
And just your fists
That turned against me so soon
It wasn't you
It was the drink
