This darkness blankets us
Shields us from the world
From the truth
That things are no longer as they were
No longer one and the same
But two separate bodies
A clock out of time
A dance out of sync
Whispering meaningless nothings
But as you pull me close
I feel you slipping
Further and further away
This distance between us
Cannot be bridged
By gentle touches
This void cannot be filled
With even a thousand kisses
