The Dawn Of Truth Poem by Isadora Quagmire

The Dawn Of Truth

Rating: 5.0

It started quietly —
a monk, and a door,
a few words nailed
that shook the world forevermore.
No armies, no grand parade,
just one man saying,
"Here I stand. I can't turn away."

He wasn't trying to begin a fight,
he just saw truth
in a clearer light.
And from that spark,
five grand Solas rose —
five steady truths our hearts still know.

Sola Scriptura — the Word alone.
Not hidden behind a wall of stone.
It speaks to all, to rich and poor,
and calls us home forevermore.

Sola Fide — by faith we stand.
Not by the work of human hands.
No ladder high, no merit won —
just trust the cross,
and what Christ's done.

Sola Gratia — grace alone.
A gift that calls the lost back home.
You don't earn love;
it's freely given.
That's the heartbeat of forgiven.

Solus Christus — Christ our King.
The center of our everything.
No saint, no priest can take His place;
He meets us eye to eye — with grace.

Soli Deo Gloria — to God, all praise.
For every breath, for all our days.
No glory stolen, none our own —
just light reflected from His throne.

So Luther stood — one voice, one flame,
no quest for glory, wealth, or fame.
He spoke what conscience dared to say,
and faith found wings that day.

Now centuries have come and gone,
but still that truth keeps burning on:
By grace alone, through faith we live,
In Christ alone, our hearts forgive.

God's Word our guide, His glory known —
Forever His, and His alone.

The Dawn Of Truth
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem in the memory of Martin Luther because, as few people know, today is the 508th anniversary of the day that he nailed the his Ninety-Five Theses in 1517to the doors of Wittenberg! He is a great hero of the Christian faith that truly doesn't get the memory that he deserves! I hope that you enjoy this poem and that it blesses you, dear reader!
