(the) Deal Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

(the) Deal

In the 21st century.
Global dependence,
Is not a myth.
But a reality that exists.

The truth?
Whether to accept or not,
Depends on the selling of delusions.
And who buys them more to hoard.
Stored.
In the event,
Truth to refuse it...
Becomes overwhelmingly prevented.

The deal?
Everyone, everywhere.
From coast to coast.
And islands in between,
Distant shores.
Should know what this means.
Not to leave ignored.
It's the money.
Much more important,
Than bees making honey.

In the midst,
Of a disease spreading pandemic.
Not to be rumored.
But effectively witnessed.
The economy is the focus.
As if to darken the sky,
Threatening like vultures or locusts.

In the midst,
Of death, hunger...
And a promising of sustained,
To remain poverty...
Never by many to experience before.
Or pain and its anguish,
No one adventures to want explored.
In these days is less prioritized,
Than the economy.
It is the ever to love it 'economy'.
More to want back.
Stronger than before,
The testing 'pest'...
Of a threatening death,
A pandemic that has arrived...
In the hope it leaves,
The economy left to survive.

The truth?
Whether to accept or not.
Is in a war to battle,
Against the defending of delusions.
And who buys them more to hoard.
Stored.
In the event,
Truth is defeated.
And overwhelmingly prevented.
To ever again,
Threaten the economy.
Or future dollars made...
Between the greedy and those who feast.
That's the deal!
Felt to feel or not.
