The Decaying Day Poem by Samuel Stuart Pennell

The Decaying Day

Now I lay me down to sleep,
and visions of the day fade,
like sandcastles decaying,
Gently being lapped away by the ocean,
Until they

disappear

Time ticks in the quietness,
Until my mind fades away,
and there is nothing left
