The Deepest Love I've Ever Claimed

I've held a flame that could not die,
Its glow more fierce than dawn's embrace,
A light so pure, so wild, so high,
It burned like stars that fell from space.

Your gaze was water, still and deep,
A forge such fire beneath the calm—
A place where restless lover's sleep,
And oh' my heart this healing balm.

You were the 'sigh' I dared not breathe,
The scarlet bloom upon my cheek,
In every glance, a hidden wreath,
Your words my lips were shy to speak.

My world dissolved to trembling dust,
Where only our two souls remained;
In love's sweet ache, in passion's musk,
The deepest love I've ever claimed.
