The Devil's Black Sleeve Poem by Holly Jamestone

The Devil's Black Sleeve

The flip side of evil is Goodness
And “evil” spelled backwards is “Live”
So let’s get together and change things
Stop madness, stop hatred, forgive

The more that we form a positive chain
With less room for darkness or black
We’ll lighten our hearts as we stand side by side
In getting our world back on track

The more we unite, the less their acclaim
And none of us care if they’re feeling no shame
For they will not break us and we will not bend
They’ll be accountable when their “lives” end

“Evil” spelled backwards is “Live”
We can’t put our own lives on hold
Due to the hatred of others
Whose punishments will be foretold

Terror rhymes only with error
It’s useless, it’s dark and must leave
It permeates goodness and fractures life’s joy
And Lives on the devil’s black sleeve
