The Devils' Night Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

The Devils' Night

Kids all dressed in creepy costumes,
Are waiting with delight,
And strange things will be happening,
On this October night.

Out of the night come scary noises,
Creatures creep and roam around,
And out in many windows,
Jack-O-Lanterns can be found.

Ghosts and Goblins and Witches too,
Are out along the streets,
Knocking on all the doors,
Shouting 'trick or treats'.

Candy is the promised treat,
When creatures come to call,
Scary things are all about,
And children love it all.

From their darkened hiding places,
Come creatures seldom seen,
And the moon will shine its' brightest,
For tonight is Halloween.
