The Dignity Of Our Names Poem by Dennis Go

The Dignity Of Our Names

I can't remember
The dignity of our names -
Those titles lost in confusion.

Where's my name?
I spelled it in blank letters
But it walked away
Among bloody syllables.

Those damn initials
Lower my self esteem a bit
But I can't lure pity
Down into my pocket.

Just can't.

See me standing
By the corner of despair
Wording out phrases
And surnames
I cannot find.
