The Diva Of The Streets Poem by Anne Janette Natividad

The Diva Of The Streets

Rating: 3.5

Excuse me, Dear sir
Would you care for a song?
I ask not of gold nor silver
But a smile, that's all

Good Evening, My lady
Would you care for a song?
To celebrate such moon
In this glorious night fall

I can sing anything
Soft, Classic or mellow
I also do dances
As I sing along

Excuse me, Dear sir
Excuse me, Dear Ma'am
Why are you staring?
with such pitiful eyes?

My clothes are rags
My body is dirty
I am mostly bones
Under my skin

I will sing a song
Not for gold nor silver
but nothing more
than food to be warmer

I am rotting inside
I plead for your saving
but is a song
really worth something?

So please tell me
would you like to hear?
This poor Diva's singing
