The Dvd Player.(Haiku) .

Rating: 4.8

Loneliness at night;
My Blu-ray player says 'Hi',
'Bye' in lights each time.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My Blu-ray DVD player says 'hello' when I switch it on, and 'bye' just before I turn it off-charming. I sleep alone, so the player seems like a real person saying those words.
I had to shorten 'hello' to 'hi' to get the exact number of syllables in the haiku lines: 5-7-5. I get hours of entertainment from both my DVD players-the second one plays ordinary DVDs, not Blu-ray. Blu-ray gives a slightly better picture.

sounds like a charmer, that Blu-Ray.

The Blu-Ray player is indeed charming. The words 'hello' and 'bye' could be said by a person, or so I imagine. I also have an ordinary DVD player. Far more DVDs can be played on this than Blu-Ray-that is the videos for hire from a shop.
