The Evil Generation Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

The Evil Generation

Oh, the evil generation we live in,
Where kindness and empathy have become a sin,
Where greed and selfishness reign supreme,
And morality is just a distant dream.

We are the masters of manipulation,
Using our words to deceive the nation,
We preach equality, but practice discrimination,
And our actions scream loud, our true intentions.

We worship money, power, and fame,
Our shallow existence, all just a game,
We step on others, with no remorse,
For our own benefit, we'll take any course.

We laugh at the suffering, we cause,
For our conscience, we have no pause,
We care only for our own gain,
Leaving behind the scars of pain.

We hide behind screens, in a virtual world,
Where bullying and hate have unfurled,
We thrive on drama and create chaos,
Leaving behind a trail of broken trust.

We live in a society of instant gratification,
Where morals and values are just an aberration,
We crave for attention and validation,
And our self-worth lies in social media's sensation.

We have become slaves to our own desires,
And our hearts have turned into ice-cold fires,
For this evil generation, there's no salvation,
As we continue to fuel our own damnation.

So, here's a dirge for this wicked age,
Where humanity has reached a new low stage,
Let's hope for a change, in this generation,
Before we face the consequences of our own creation.
