The Eyes Poem by Sandra Feldman

The Eyes

Oh, the eyes, the eyes,
They tell you so very much!
Open windows, magical touch
To mysteries that surround us,
Wanting to know what the World is made of,
Mirrors of feelings, especially love.

Looking deeply, attentively,
Our eyes enable us to be,
More in touch, with what we see
Be it oceans, mountains or sky,
When we see them we want to know 'Why'?
Why does the sun enable us to live,
Why are we the way we are?
Why have we built machines
That go so far?

A myriad of thoughts
Start thru the eyes,
And love can be born,
'When I look in your eyes'

Eyes also open the doors to Art,
Which is the truth of another's heart,
Blessed all vision that lets us see
All the bountiful goodness and beauty
The world is and should forever be.
Eyes enable us to read, the written word,
The greatest gift, to progress
The most precious seed of the human herd.
