Nuit D'Amour (Love's Night) - Poem by Sandra Feldman

In the secret, silent night,
When all stars have taken flight,
And the cares that plague the moon,
Drown in Lover's deep Lagoon,
Sleepless is the Loveless One,
For his love is lost and gone,
In the mist that's just begun,
Where all Memories are spun.
And the Past becomes undone.

There a Love so deep and true,
Crossed the skies, the Ocean too,
In a thunderous embrace,
We saw Heaven, face to face.

And I loved you while I could,
But you never understood,
That in Worlds so far apart,
Love was doomed, right from the start.

Seeing heaven face to face, and coming to the necessary realization of the great distance between; such pathos, and yet what wonder! Beautiful poem. (Report) Reply

Crossed the skies, the ocean too,
    In thunderous embrace,
We saw Heaven, face to face.
But, owing to worlds so far apart, love was doom,
    right from the start!
Nice work, thanks for sharing, Sandra!

Both sides, joy as well as sadness of love are usually thick and sound enough for poets to thrive entirely even on it. Congrats for being the member's PoD, as you very well deserve it. Thanks for the sensational poem. (Report) Reply

I can really relate to some of your melancholy love poems. I don't
usually enjoy love poems, but yours have the unrequited aspect
to them, which is mostly what I've known; -) the last part, I get,
like wuthering heights I've always loved that movie
