The Face In The Cloud Poem by Juan Olivarez

The Face In The Cloud

Rating: 5.0

The face in the cloud, is smiling at me,
It's all knowing, secretive smile.
While up in the sky it's floating free,
It has been smiling for a while.

When I first saw it, it had a beard,
And the nicest pair of ears.
But it has been morphing, just as I've feared,
And now it's laughing, through it's tears.

It's hair was nice and combed back then,
But the wind's been playing hell with it.
Now it's gone wild, standing on end,
I think it's about to throw a fit.

The face in the cloud, has gone away,
But others follow close behind.
So many faces to see each day,
In the inner workings of my mind.
