The Feeling Will Never Die Poem by Matt Swanson

The Feeling Will Never Die

Love was in the air
Did you ever really care?
I did my best to let you know
But I was pained as I watched you go.

Broken, scattered, tattered and torn
I did nothing to heed when you forwarned
'A heartbreaker' you said with much dismay
I'll bleed my heart out day after day.

Fell for you so deep and true
Guess it sucks to have lost you
Cause now I know what true love was like
I wish I could have just one more bite.

So there you go, my pain and strife
Wishing I could have you back in my life
But never to be, as you now follow him
You'll break his heart with your evil whims

So I stand here, at our old spot
The tree we carved has begun to rot
Left with nothing but memory of your game
God, babe. You're so effin lame.
