I came home early to surprise you
I didn't know the darker side of you
The house was cluttered, things on the floor
And light was coming from our bedroom door

I'm no superman, but you can be my kryptonite,
I'm no spiderman, but you're my Mary Jane
I'm not an insomniac, but i'll see you at midnight
I'm not engaged, but you can take my name.
...

To desire love you cannot attain
To be in want for personal gain
Your words are pure, your heart on fire
We sail these straits, currents most dire
...

Star-crossed love
Ain't that enough?
Two young teens
We have time to dream
...

In my life, she is the best
Doesn't have to even try, to outdo all the rest
I truly hope we never grow apart
She's so beautiful, so funny, so smart.
...

Thought we were done
Thought you were gone
Now you're back
I'm gonna have a heart attack
...

Oh, boy. A touchy subject
Gotta use just the right dialect
Let me see, how to start?
There's a lot to say about this part...
...

A personal battle waged in my soul
The personal sacrifice taking it's toll
I don't know who's good or bad
As warriors charge in, iron-clad.
...

Love was in the air
Did you ever really care?
I did my best to let you know
But I was pained as I watched you go.
...

Falling out of place
Falling on my face
Can't believe you're really gone
What did I do? What went wrong?
...

Thank you for reminding me of every corny love song
The ones made for saps
The ones that try to convince you of that one person made true
That one person made for you

Matt Swanson Biography

I am just a regular high school kid, maybe a bit smarter than some, but not proud of it. I have a girlfriend...for now. Seems to change a lot, but this one has proven very stable. I'm just coasting through life, pretty much. Nothing really matters except becoming a pilot.)

I came home early to surprise you
I didn't know the darker side of you
The house was cluttered, things on the floor
And light was coming from our bedroom door

I remember not saying a word
I remember walking slowly, fearing the worst
I remember the warmth of the tear on my cheek
I remember it all, cause it was only last week

I approached, I heard you giggle
I opened the door, I saw you wriggle
He was on top, savoring the moment
I lost myself that day.

It kills me most to have never known
Because of the the things I've never been shown
I died inside to keep you alive
I let you win, I let you win.

Moments that are taken
Hearts that are breakin'
Headboards that were quakin'
In your merrymakin'

I wish I'd never have come home that day
Saw you two in the foray
In my nightmares, at the end
You scream the name of my best friend.
