The Fiercer Rains

mystery drives beauty from the door
I heard these words in a dream
or mystification
as if bird music had been translated
and the rains
yet she is not vagrant
nor subject to riddle answering
by the break of dawn or to forfeit life
not only in fairy tales can it be this clear
the power to decree belongs to God
and not to those
who think too highly of themselves
tossing small pittance
to the underlings.
so shall gold
in out of the way places
not be found by them
anything but elusive
so murmurs the wind and the rain
the fiercer rains lashing the stars.

The mystery is majestic and scatters beauties profusely on the winds of time. It is for us time-bound and innocent creatures to gather and treasure them.
