The Fight Begins Downstairs Poem by Linda Coker

The Fight Begins Downstairs

The fight begins downstairs
Then up a flight it goes
While fists and curses fly
Along with shoes and clothes

Brothers on each other
In constant competition
Fighting is so natural
With daily repetition

Yet they’ll defend each other
If you think neither cares
Just lay a finger on one and
The fight begins downstairs
