The Fugitives Poem by Paul Warren

The Fugitives

I wish I had taken the advice
And keep moving at a pace just right
But I was tired from all the travelling
As the world was for us unravelling

The cities were the first to fall
When the invaders landed in the call
But some of us have escaped at night
Waiting for a time that would be alright

The satellites have opened their eyes
Making the skies the perfect spies
And they have found us in the old place
I can see their lights approach at a blinding pace.
