The Garden Of Patience Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Garden Of Patience

The Garden of Patience

The Garden of Patience,
Your whole must be like.
'O my servants who believe, '
says Allah,
'Be mindful of your Lord.
The earth stretches wide,
but it is the steadfast—
who inherit its breadth.
To those who endure,
reward flows without limit,
like rain unceasing—
from the skies of mercy.'

Patience stands as sentinel
at the gates of calamity,
its true form revealed—
at grief's first tremor.
Not a cloak of resignation,
but the armor of the heart,
tempered by trust,
forged in the fires of trial.

The Prophet spoke:
Verily, patience
is at calamity's first stroke.
It is the whispered prayer
before sorrow settles its weight,
the hand that reaches for light—
when shadows swiftly gather.

Seek help—not with hurried steps,
but with patience woven
into the fabric of your prayers.
For the burden is heavy,
save for the humble,
whose hearts bow
before the Sustainer of all things.
O believers—
comfort lies in patience and prayer,
where Allah draws near
to those who endure.

Patience is a stairway,
each step carved by forgiveness,
each ascent greeted by echoes of peace.
It is Luqman's voice to his son:
Establish prayer, enjoin the good,
forbid the wrong,
and endure what befalls you.
This too is a path
for those who seek the heights.

When the harvest seems barren,
remember—
Allah does not forsake
the patient's reward.
Good-doers tread a road
lined with blossoms unseen
by hurried eyes.
Their deeds bloom in gardens
tended by unseen hands.
And Allah, the Most Loving,
embraces the steadfast
in the warmth of His affection.

Warriors stood beside prophets,
unshaken by loss, unbowed by grief.
They did not yield—
and Allah's love flowed
through their perseverance,
like a river carving valleys of devotion.

Let the heart rest in this truth—
Allah is sufficient.
Your trials are known to Him
who crafted your being.
In hardship,
let patience wear beauty.
Surely, Allah is with those
who persevere.

Do not let disbelief unravel your peace.
O Prophet—your patience
is tethered to Allah's hand.
Grieve not for those who reject the light,
nor let their schemes darken
the sanctuary of your heart.
Persevere—
for steadfastness is the key to serenity,
and in surrender to Allah's decree,
the soul finds home.

Patience is not mere endurance—
it is walking with grace,
trusting the unseen hand
that guides the way.
And as you walk,
roses unseen line the path,
perfumed by the promise—
that those who wait in faith
shall taste the sweetness
of eternal gardens.
