The Garden Of The Divine Poem by jon groff

The Garden Of The Divine

I've been trampling through the garden of the divine,
and now I can see that their suffering is truly mine.
The reason the world has been trampling on my soul,
never trying to replace the innocence that they stole.
They create the problem so that you need their solution,
Seems you can't escape this never ending mind pollution.
they use a doctrine of love and skewer it with their own spin,
making you want to be a slave so that you can be free of sin.
The creation of an eternal debt that can never be paid,
and through complacence I'm supposed to be saved.
for some it's a one way ticket out of the land of despair,
but how can you be free under a judgmental glare.
To reach the mountain tops and bask in the suns glow,
the only way to breakout is through the valleys below.
once you realize joy is not a phase but a state of being,
you'll see how enlightenment can be quite liberating.
I've been trampling through the garden of the divine,
Clearing space in order to erect my own holy shrine.
The reason why is so that I may once again be whole,
Hopefully I can replace the innocence that they stole.
