The Genesis Conundrum Poem by Oluwatosin Thomas

The Genesis Conundrum

I
‎Let us embark on a journey through the annals of history,
‎To the land of Genesis, where tales of old unfold with mystery.
‎A woman's role in life's tragedies, a story oft told,
‎The fall of man, like the walls of Jericho, crumbling to the ground, so bold.
‎II
‎Man was crafted, a being of might,
‎In need of a companion, a helpmate in sight.
‎But did she bear the weight of his downfall's blame?
‎Or was it a choice that sealed his fate, a story to reclaim?
‎III
‎A choice to make, with the forbidden fruit in view,
‎'An apple made me do it! ' or the serpent's cunning anew?
‎A decision once made, the blame we still assign,
‎A question that lingers, like a lingering sin.
‎IV
‎Woman, apple, or the serpent's guile?
‎Let us lay the blame aside, and acknowledge our own trial.
‎For in the end, it's not the tempter, but our own desire,
‎Everyone is responsible for their choices, a truth we must acquire.
