The Gift Poem by Sally Plumb Plumb

The Gift

A jewel of commitment
around the fingered hand
grows tighter and tighter
as her life expands.

She gazes at the lustre
of amethyst and gold
and wonders on her life
now she is growing old.

Commitment soon was past
but the jewel still glistened true.
Jewels last forever
and will glow her lifetime through.

'Commitment soon was past but the jewel still glistened true. Jewels last forever and will glow her lifetime through.'...is such a beautiful stanza. Nice poem. Loved it.
