The Gift That Seems To Last Poem by Zara O

The Gift That Seems To Last

I've seen the future
And you're in it

It tasted of salt air
It looked like wind swept hair
It felt like a thousand waves
It seemed like we might just dare

I've seen the future
And you're in it

It sounded like bells
It looked like a party
It seemed like a good time
I think the love is hardy

I've seen the future
And you're in it

I won't say more
Let's just start from the floor

Forget the future
Throw out the past
For now there's the present
The gift that seems to last
