The Glass-Bottom Boat Poem by Nneka Edwards

The Glass-Bottom Boat

Island melody sings on sea-breeze
We're cruise-cruising out to the reef
Through crystal blues as clear as glass
We're jig-jigging through a watery path

Under-sea gardens of coral and fish
Are bloom-blooming, making me wish
This aquarium wonder could colour within
Ever paint-painting marine-magic things

Our boat anchors in a blue crystal pool
We're splash-splashing in the shallow cool
It's like swimming through silky aqua shimmer
The sun glow-glowing makes ripples glitter

Sweet island melody fills the air
We're jig-jigging without a seashore care
Our boat is dancing and bouncing sweet
We're fete-feting in a pool in the deep
