The Glory Has Gone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Glory Has Gone

It took many years to settle
With lots of hard work and struggle
It was assumed that sun shall not set
The fate shall not prove as cruel even

It is my story
Applicable to everybody
I had dreamed and desired
But now everything is set on fire

I was fortunate
To scale ladder and relate
Look, I am example of good work
Golden star and symbol of words

But nothing stays permanent
I was pushed with no chance for improvement
The empire was dashed to the ground
I fear it shall never be found again

I am left alone
The past glory has gone
I have still fear of letting down
But believe me, the fate is never known

The Glory Has Gone
