The stone was bare as I lay there
With cold and damp that made skin shiver
And darkness all around delivered
In nakedness and scorn
I heard the cries of wretched sinners
Screaming agonising save us
Look upon and help redeem us
Love our blackened souls
And I could see the inner me
And viewed the whole outside of me
The turbulence and hell to see
My body not my own
And grasping hands would reach to touch
So I too them would offer such
And watched the radiance destruct
The evil in their hearts
Then brightness on them all befell
And light and colour chased the hell
So beauty once again did dwell
Upon their eyes and mind
And now they too could see as me
The love of true humanity
And spread the word of purity
You are not alone
For death he has no master here
and when your body dissappears
truth and faith will have no fear
your light will carry on
So little this I say and true
The words of light will come to you
And lead you onto life anew
The glory path and home.

At first I thought this may have been a dream, but I'm not sure. A very powerful piece, Charlie, and one that says so much about truth and light. Nice easy flow and rhyme, which is so much a characteristic of your writing style. Reminds me of my own. Great work, Charlie! Linda :) xx
