The Greatest Present Poem by Randy McClave

The Greatest Present

As I look underneath the Christmas tree
I hope to find the greatest gift for me to see,
I want to read the name, from whom it came
Excitingly hoping seeing the present addressed to me.
I want all to see the smile upon my face
I want all to hear my heart as it does excitedly race,
When my name is called, I will be enthralled
Towards that gift I will excitedly race.
I hope that the gift doesn't cost a lot
I hope they remember it's not the price, but the thought,
And I hope that it's the gift, that my soul will lift
That's the true pleasure that I have always sought.
I hope that I am excited and swayed
With excitement and joy portrayed,
Knowing the greatest present, is from the heart sent
I hope my gift is either hand written or handmade.
