The Grey Ghost - Poem by Jazzy Davies

This grey wall
surrounding, choking, pulsing with MY life
neither visible nor palpable
but suffocatingly real
bound to time with padlocks of iron
forever trailing, stalking and ominously there
unshakeable, but one day
I will out run you
be free of you
may even miss you
but the bindings will break
life will become levelled
and the horizon beckons
