The Grey Lady Poem by Ima Ryma

The Grey Lady

Evansville, Indiana be
Where The Grey Lady calls her home,
Within the Willard Library,
Where in place and time she does roam.
In 1937, she,
In a basement hall, was first seen
By a good janitor, and he
Got scared and quit his job routine.
Since then this veiled Grey Lady ghost
Has oft appeared in varied room.
She likes the elevator most,
Leaves a scent of heavy perfume.

Nobody's quite sure who she is,
As she does do her haunting biz.
