The Ground For Compassion
A thing being a beauty,
The thing may be someone's
But the beauty is common to all.
When it is destroyed the loss
Is to all the perceivers as well.
When a man is under attack,
He may not be anybody's
But his helplessness affects
And generates pity in others.
