The Guide Poem by Ima Ryma

The Guide

Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke
That for all he still had a dream.
He was speaking for common folk,
To guide equality mainstream.
Killed before his journey was done,
He left his guidings to us all,
To hear and read and see as one,
Ever beckoning to his call.
We the People have journeyed on,
Sometimes on his course, oft times not.
He taught, learn from where we have gone.
We are still learning all he taught.

If we will follow King's mapped way.
Then we will live his dream one day.
