The Herbalist Poem by Stephen Harris

The Herbalist

Rating: 5.0

spindly shadow trees bare of all but bark
cast eerie figures in moonlights midnight blue
while earths forbidden alchemist works her art
with mortars pestle and magics healing gold.
Till this witch with warts dragged trembling to tinder dry
of all consuming pyre, is found a child, a herbalist in fire.
