The Hill Poem by James Edwards

The Hill

Rating: 5.0

As I sit upon a hill, not too far from here
I watch the ballet of clouds and dream
That Colors and oceans far from here.
will one day flow in this stream.

And give the eyes of worlds unmapped
Crumbling faith with defiance.
That a robin’s song is not unplanned,
Nor is it one filled with triumph.

And it shall flow of words unspoken
Teaching you new bounded dimensions
A cricket’s call is hidden love, un-woken
Yet to become of two children’s intentions.

And deep in the stream, your silhouette
Reminding that we are of the sea.
And together this lifeline is picturesque
When tied closer by entropy.

And yet, I know my stream will never flow
With the symphony of waters, crystal clear.
Because I too often look to the moons glow,
When the answers lie on a hill, not too far from here.
