The Homecoming Poem by R B Seals

The Homecoming

Once again comes
Tradition's time of year
As families, blood 'n blend,
Scattered far and near,
Return to that special place
Where all can truly find
—Stress 'n strain left behind—
Beauty of Love's embrace.

Where matters of family reign,
Where confidence is gain,
Passing years have shown
Here, one need not feel alone;
And, filling sense of need,
Respect and understanding
Are just and abundant inside
As judgment refrains outside.

Traveling homeward bound
To that place felt as "home"
—A feeling ne'er outgrown—
All will rally to glorious sound
And sight of holidays' cheer
That ushers in the end of year,
Bringing also sentiments dear
And too, the unguarded tear

That clings to every heart
When all away must part.
