The Hour Before Dawn Poem by Tan Pratonix

The Hour Before Dawn

Rating: 3.8

Cocorico!
And the world rises up
From its slumber,

As grey smoke
From a hearth just lit,
Unfurls to meet
The navy blue sky;

And this is the hour before dawn
When the clouds
are flecked with gold

And the horizon
bathed in pink
welcomes the rising sun.

The ending makes it. I'm not so sure you need And the world rises up From its slumber, though this cliche is set surely up for its inevitable puncture. M.
