The Illuminated Light Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Illuminated Light

I squeezed my mind to the brink of madness
Trying to imagine the enormousness of the universe
I had to take a chill pill
And relax my poor mind
Then I remembered my heart
I tried to imagine using my heart
I barricaded all thoughts into a soundproof vault of my consciousness
And opened my heart to the breeze of silence

It was an amazing display of supernatural powers
As physics and mathematics vaporized
And a new form of knowledge emerged
I saw the meaninglessness of the universe
It was a realm of foolishness
Where you cannot touch the sky
But yet the sky is staring at you
You cannot jump any higher
Before the forces of gravity pulled you back

I dived deep into the realm of eternity
Suddenly I was consumed by the Spirit
And I became nothingness
I was everywhere and everything
I was the beginning and the end
I was the universe
I was eternity
I was timelessness
I had disappeared from the face of the universe
And I was the illuminated light
