The Killing Of Innocents Poem by Darren Harris

The Killing Of Innocents

“HOLY WAR” that’s what they say,
Suicide bombers murdering day after day,
The killing of innocents,
Women, children and loved ones,
Their life’s cut short,
Wrong place, wrong time,
But they don’t think it’s a crime,

Bombs on tube trains,
Bombs on buses,
The killing of innocents,
Loved ones taken to an early grave,
By an invisible enemy,
Wrong place, wrong time,
Murder is a crime,

How can they put HOLY and WAR together?
They are worlds apart,
The killing of innocents,
When will it all end?
When will we all be friends?
Wrong place, wrong time,
Let sleeping dogs lie,
It’s not our time to die.
