The King Of My Soul Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

The King Of My Soul

Rating: 5.0

The ashes that I have
is of Palm Sunday.

Jesus came as a king
of the poor and lowly
riding on a donkey.

The poor and lowly
hailed him as a king.
But the proud and rich
rejected his greatness.

Later the proud men
burned the palms
of the palm Sunday
and today we have
the ashes of rejection.

Jesus who loved the poor
and healed the sick
was nailed to the cross.

He became the king
of the suffering ones
on the earth.

Our pride and vanity
got on the way.

Our forefathers rejected
the king of love and purity.

Today I want to receive
him back in my heart.

I want him to be
the king of my soul
in my secret cave
of the singing heart.
