The blonde hugged her little dog
and I said, 'I wish I were in his place.'
Then I said to myself,
short breathed as in running race
The dog's luck is greater than your luck
Sleep where you are, the chicken is not a duck
The dog is more loved than you
and more desirable than you
I wonder all the time whether dogs
are as smart as their Dutch women?
Are dogs are as patient as the Dutch women?
If poor nations had one percent of the luck of dogs
No poor person has ever suffered from hunger
No poor remained penniless, no wonder
30 years ago, when I was still young,
I coveted a kiss from Dutch young women,
When she kissed her dog, and stuck out her tongue,
I felt jealous for the first time in my life,
The feeling to me was a psychological stung
Jealous on whom?
Woe to me or woe to the dogs?
I drew a deep breath filling my lungs
