The Last Poem by Daniel van der Merwe

This might be the last poem that I write for long,
Just keep smiling and keep being strong.
I know it’s hard but you have to say goodbye,
Keep on going and wipe your eye.

I won’t stop and spiritually I’ll grow,
I’m just writing this poem to let you all know,
It’s my time and I have to go.

After years are gone,
There’s still broken hearts but times go on.
You’ll maybe need me now…
But I know you’ll find a way, some how.

We’ll meet again so don’t fear,
I’m just glad my time was near.
Although I still wanted to go too many places,
I’m glad to go and see all the familiar faces…
