The Last Word Poem by Randy McClave

The Last Word

A poet writes in verse,
With every moment that he creates
With every emotion that he dictates,
In a aura he is immerse.
He constructs his words carefully together,
Unto each other they carefully tether.

A poet writes in lyric,
He expresses his own emotions and feelings
Many times his own sadness and hurt and it's dealings,
Many times he is satiric.
But, even through sadness and blight,
He is always inspired to write.

A poet writes in rhyme,
He is the painter of his words
They fly about him singing like birds,
A poet you should not ever begrime.
Though indeed you might have the last word by doing him wrong,
But, remember a poet will have the last word in your song.
